Autopsy Rules "Accidental Death"

Well known rapper Chad "Pimp C" Butler was found dead in his hotel on December 4, 2007 with body already decomposing when it was found. The autopsy was released on February 4, 2008 and it stated that the cause of death was accidental. Influences included cough syrup and sleep apnea, a disease which causes people to stop breathing for up to 30 seconds at a time while sleeping. It is strange because the cause of death is very ironic. He often rapped about codeine and promethazine in his song and was most recognizable for the 2000's hit "Sippin on Some Sizzurp." Sizzurp is syrup, often used as a narcotic in the south. He was one half of the pioneering group UGK from Texas.

Do you believe that Pimp C should have been under extensive medical care if he was battling sleep apnea or do you think he was aware of this condition? If he was aware, do you think he should have been taking a different prescription than what was given (since the cough syrup was perscription strength), or do you believe that he was using the medicine as a means of getting high?

I think that if he was medically diagnosed with sleep apnea, he should have been under closer watch, especially someone of a celebrity status that can afford to have a nurse around. It is a possibility that he could really have overdosed accidentally. I say this because the demands of touring and recording could have caused a mild sickness that he was trying to cure without seeking medical attention.

How ironic is this! He died from what he use to rap about. It is sad to say, but it is true. I remember when the song "Sippin on Some Sizzurp" came out. I think it was the summer after my sixth grade year.
I do think that he should have been under advanced medical care during his condition. But this was solely an accidental death. It seems like he definitely knew his condition, but ignored the negative possibilities of taking the medicine. Kind of like when we take four Asprins instead of two, or taking three doses of NyQuil instead of one. Butler probably just wanted to "knock out" his illness as fast as possible so he could ge back on the rapping scene with his crew.

I think that if he had sleep apnea he should have been under medical care. His death very well could have been accidental, but how will we ever know. Conditions like that should not be ignored. How ironic is it that he died from what he rapped about? It kind of makes you wonder. Clearly he could afford the medical care, but did he choose to ignore it because he thought it would just go away?

I think that Pimp C should be under medical care if he was diagnosed with sleep apnea. He should have somebody of medical experience around him if he had this disease. I don't that he was aware of his condition because he probably wouldn't encourage the use of codeine and promethazine. If somebody had told him about his condition, he can probably prevented this tragedy. This situation is very ironic!

I remember that song. I think that this is sad, but he should have been under better care. If he knew about this condition he should have had a nurse around. I think the death was accidental and he mixed some drugs that may have not been able to mix together, but you never know something else could come up.
